Description

Famille Verte green glazed parrot created during the Qing Dynasty, Kangxi Period. It was the last imperial dynasty of China and in fact was a government of Manchus. When the Manchu tribesmen overran China they destroyed many of the porcelain factories. Fortunately, despite their lack of appreciation, they had little influence on cultural aspects of Chinese life. As a result, the Qing Dynasty has been named "the great technical age of Chinese ceramics." This cheerful example of the artist's effort is an affordable way to own a piece of history.
