Description
A beautiful right side of a Luristan bronze horse bit very effectively mounted on a red lacquered wooden background. The horse strides right with alert perked ears. One loop on neck, one loop on back for the cheek straps. The people of Luristan lived in the mountainous Zagros region of Persia. They were highly skilled bronze workers who adorned their zoomorphic cheekpieces with wonderful depictions. We know very little about them as scholarship has had difficulty in that region. Ref.
