A Medieval Frankish single handled bronze vessel, possibly from the Rhine. The Franks, one of the Barbarian peoples who attacked the Roman Empire, succeeded in establishing a political presence that survived and supplanted the Empire. They laid the foundations of the Carolingian empire leading to the Western European civilization as we know it.
