Description
A handsome Early Corinthian Skyphos with black figure frieze around body showing four Alpine Ibex following each other with elongated lithe bodies. "Orientalized" animal friezes were drawn in silhouette in this era. Corinth which had played a comparatively minor role in the production of Geometric pottery, was the first of the city states to adapt the influence of their exposure to the eastern civilizations. Bottom is decoratively painted.
