This example is of turquoise-green glazed faience. Ushabtis were the 400+/- small figures of servants plus supervisors who accompanied well-to-do Egyptians to ease the passage to the afterworld. They carried tools in each hand and a sack on their back. The ushabti is holding a pick and a hoe while wearing a tripartite wig and false beard.
